The Cobalt Kinetics 6mm ARC (Advanced Rifle Cartridge) is  built on their CK-SPR Elite platform, which is designed as a high-performance duty and competition rifle. Because it is chambered in 6mm ARC—a cartridge designed by Hornady to deliver low-recoil, high-velocity performance out of an AR-15 sized platform—the rifle is often evaluated on its ability to maintain sub-MOA accuracy at long distances.

Technical Specifications & Build

Upper: 7075 T6 Billet
Lower: 7075 T6 Billet
Handguard: 6061, Semi-Monolithic, M-Lok (7-sided)
Barrel: Carbon Fiber wrapped, 416R Match Grade precision barrel (Rifle +1 length gas)
Twist Rate: 1/7.5 RH
Muzzle Device: RCB 2.0
Gas Block: Cobalt (Non-Adj.), .750 dia
BCG: Cobalt, Full-Auto (8620 Carrier, 9310 Bolt, Billet Extractor)
Charging Handle: Radian Raptor LT
Safety: Cobalt, Ambi
Mag release: Ambi
Trigger: Geissele Super (High Speed) National Match (2-Stage)
Buffer System: A5/ CK buffer system, anti-tilt buffer
Grip: B5 Systems, Type 23 grip
Buttstock: B5 Systems Precision stock.

Chassis & Receiver
: The CK-SPR Elite uses a 7075-T6 billet aluminum receiver set. It features expanded flared magwells and an ambi-functional design (ambidextrous charging handle, safety, and mag release).

Cobalt Kinetics CK-SPR Elite and the Proof Research 6mm ARC Carbon Fiber Barrel

The Proof Research carbon fiber barrel is engineered to provide the accuracy of a heavy-profile match barrel without the associated weight.

Construction: The Proof Research barrel uses a match-grade 416R stainless steel core that is significantly thinned down and then wrapped in aerospace-grade carbon fiber.

Performance: The carbon fiber wrap is designed to be more thermally conductive than steel, which helps dissipate heat faster and prevents "point of impact shift" during long strings of fire.

Weight Savings: These barrels are roughly 64% lighter than a traditional steel barrel of the same contour.

Available Lengths: Typically found in 14.5", 16", 18", and 20" configurations for the 6mm ARC.

The "CAMGAS" System

One technical detail worth noting is that Proof Research uses a proprietary CAMGAS (Caliber Matched Gas System) on these barrels. Because 6mm ARC maintains higher bore pressure further down the barrel than 5.56, Proof adjusts the gas port location to ensure the recoil impulse is softer and the extraction is more reliable, reducing wear on your brass and the bolt.

Trigger:
The 6mm ARC SPR Elite usually ships with a Geissele Super (High Speed) National Match two-stage trigger, which provides a crisp  pull weight suitable for precision shooting.

Performance Review

Accuracy: Most technical evaluations report consistent sub-MOA performance (under 1 inch at 100 yards) using factory Hornady 108gr ELD Match ammunition. The 6mm ARC excels here by staying supersonic past 1,000 yards, a feat difficult for standard 5.56 or .300 Blackout rounds.

Recoil Management: The 6mm ARC inherently has low recoil, but Cobalt Kinetics’ buffer system and muzzle brake further flatten the impulse. This allows for rapid follow-up shots while maintaining a clear sight picture through high-magnification optics.

Weight & Ergonomics: The CK-SPR Elite is relatively lightweight for a precision-oriented rifle, weighing approximately 6.5 to 7 lbs (unloaded/without optics). The handguard features M-LOK slots at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions for bipods or tripod plates.

Summary

Ballistic Superiority: Provides "AR-10 performance" in a lighter, more maneuverable AR-15 frame.

Premium Components: Comes stock with high-end parts (Geissele, Radian, B5 Systems) that usually require aftermarket upgrading on other rifles.

Buffer System: Cobalt Kinetics buffer system reduces overall recoil.
